Celebrity Dukan Diet Gaining Popularity

The French created diet plan by Dr Pierre Dukan, the Dukan Diet, is becoming widely used amongst some of the most most famous people in showbusiness.

The Dukan Diet is becoming so popular that it has overtaken the Atkins Diet as one of the premier diets followed around the world.  It is arguably only second at the moment to the Weight Watchers plan, who will be releasing a revamped system in time for all the new year dieters who maybe overindulged a bit too much over Christmas and the New Year!

Two of the most popular women in Hollywood have used the diet to shift excess weight, and to obvious success.

It has grown so much over the last year or two that in Dr Dukan’s native France, over one and a half million women already follow it, and this isn’t even counting any men who have taken it up.  Earlier this year, they launched an online presence so as to try and capitalize on the growing popularity for the system, and allow them to expand to and target English speaking markets.

One of the ways the Dukan Diet is trying to be different to other weight loss system is that it charges registered users for a specific diet plan paid for on a daily basis as opposed to making a larger financial commitment of paying for it monthly.

The first stage is known as the “attack stage”, where users must avoid all carbohydrates and consume foods only rich in protein.  This can be the stage where users see the quickest weight loss.

The second stage is known as the “cruising stage” , and here users balance out their protein intake with vegetables on alternate days.

The third stage is known as the “consolidation stage”, where followers see the diet restrictions ease slightly, with carbohydrates being slowly brought back into their food consumption.

The fourth and final stage is called the “stabilisation stage”, and dieters are allowed to eat anything they want!  Although one day a week they must follow the protein only rule from the first stage.

Will it challenge Weight Watchers and become the premier diet plan used worldwide?  Only time will tell!
